Question : What is the approximate surface coverage of the primer... I need to prepare a surface of about 2 cm x 2 m?

Answer:
The consumption rate for our WEICON product Primer P 400 with item number 10023569 is 20–60 ml/m².

Question : I need to attach a textile zipper to a PE grow house, so I would use this primer on the PE; could I use an acrylic sealant/glue on the textile part of the zipper? I thought that I could use two wooden strips to clamp the zipper to the PE. Or. Maybe I could put a strip of tape, like packing tape? Or Panzerband, on both sides of the zipper and PE ? /×××××××××××××××××××××××××××Tape || ||

Answer:
There are several methods you can consider for attaching a textile zip to a PE greenhouse. Here are some considerations and suggestions regarding the options you mentioned: 1. Use of a primer Primer: A primer is well suited for preparing the PE surface to improve the adhesion of the adhesive. Ensure that the primer is compatible with the adhesive you intend to use. 2. Acrylic sealant/adhesive application on the textile part: An acrylic sealant or adhesive can be applied to the textile area of the zip. Ensure that the sealant remains flexible to accommodate the movement of the zip. However, it may be advisable to choose a special textile adhesive to ensure that the adhesive adheres well and remains elastic. 3. Wooden strips for fastening Clamp method: Using two wooden strips to clamp the zip fastener to the PE can be an effective method of ensuring a secure connection while the adhesive or sealant hardens. Ensure that the strips are evenly spaced to apply pressure along the entire length of the zip. 4. Use of adhesive tape Packaging tape or duct tape: Applying adhesive tape to both sides of the zip and the PE can be a quick and easy solution. However, this method may not be as durable as gluing, especially in extreme weather conditions.
5. Recommendation for a durable hold If you are looking for a long-term solution, we recommend combining primers, a suitable sealant/adhesive and a stable fastening method (such as wooden strips). The adhesive tape could be used as a temporary solution or for short-term fastening until the adhesive has completely hardened.
